For over 85 years, the Materials Handling Engineers’ Association (MHEA) has supported the technical and commercial interests of UK and overseas companies that supply and use bulk handling equipment. One of the many undertakings of the MHEA is its flagship Bulkex Conference, which attracts the finest minds in bulk materials handling. These meetings serve as a forum where engineers, industry pioneers, and key decision-makers can exchange ideas that go on to shape the future of material transport and storage.
Building on the record-breaking success of the 2025 event, Bulkex 26 will once again be hosted at the prestigious Chesford Grange Hotel & Conference Centre in Warwickshire on 13th & 14th October. The event promises two full days of expert insight, technical innovation, and industry collaboration. The packed programme features inspiring speakers addressing the latest technical challenges, emerging solutions, and key projects shaping the future of bulk materials handling. Both days will host a supporting exhibition, with around 40 companies showcasing their products and services.

Alongside Bulkex, the MHEA Excellence Awards 2026, celebrating the best in materials handling, will take place on the evening of Tuesday 13th. The event will be headlined by former England cricketer and popular broadcaster Mr Phil Tufnell and hosted by Mr Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock.
There are 9 great categories open to companies or individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the bulk materials handling industry and we’re pleased to announce that ProSpare has been shortlisted in 2 categories this year.
Our Bulk Materials Handling Division General Manager, Danny Smith, has been shortlisted for the Engineer of the Year 2026 award. This award seeks to acknowledge and celebrate an engineer’s exceptional qualities and contribution to their workplace within the bulk materials handling industry.

Additionally, we have also been shortlisted for the Sustainability Award 2026, which recognises the outstanding efforts of individuals, teams, or organisations who have significantly contributed towards sustainable development within the bulk materials handling industry. Our submission is about our decarbonisation project for our on-premises operations, which we at ProSpare are immensely proud of.

Our Bulk Materials Handling Team has been improving belt conveyor performance and safety for a decade helping to reduce maintenance commitments on this often troublesome part of the plant across many industries. With a highly knowledgeable team on hand and leading high-performance cleaning, tracking, and sealing equipment including STARCLEAN®, CenTrax and SealTek available to view, be sure to stop by stand 28 to see how ProSpare can help keep your conveyors clean, tracked and spillage free.
STARCLEAN® is a cornerstone of the offering from our Bulk Team so, in addition to our range of belt conveyor improvement products, this year at Bulkex, we will also be talking about our newly launched STARCLEAN® HD range. The HD Heavy Duty range takes all of the innovative features from STARCLEAN®’s blade and tensioner technology, and scales it up to meet the demands of the most challenging large-scale conveyors.
