Hydronix Moisture Measurement

Identify moisture. Improve the process.

The moisture content of bulk materials and aggregates is often a hidden variable within the production process, and moisture levels experienced can change frequently due to a wide range of external factors.

With Hydronix, operators can accurately measure moisture levels through high-precision digital microwave moisture sensors. The accuracy of Hydronix improves control throughout the process and can increase product quality, reduce waste & rejects, cut operating costs, and save energy.

Established in 1982, Hydronix pioneered the microwave technique and has gone on to become market leader. The equipment is tried and tested with over 115,000 sensors installed in 90 countries, and they continue to develop solutions and new products using the latest technology.

Where Hydronix can help

Hydronix are committed to ensuring that their products add value to customers’ processes while reducing costs and the amount of wasted materials.

Usage: Industries

Aggregates. Agri-food. Agriculture. Animal & Fish Nutrition. Asphalt. Bioenergy. Bulk Solids. Concrete. Food. Oil Extraction. Paper Pulp. Rice Processing. Sugar. Wood Industry.

Usage: Processes

Batching / Weighing. Conditioning (Steam). Conveying. Drying. Milling / Grinding. Mixing. Packaging. Pelletising / Extrusion. Storage. Vacuum Pan. Water / Chemical Addition.

Examples: Reduce over-drying

By reducing the amount of over-drying, you can gain 0.5% weight of finished product. If you’re drying 1000 tonnes per hour, you’re gaining hourly an extra 5 tonnes of material.

Examples: Reduce waste

“The installation of a moisture sensor in our parboiled rice production has enabled us to reduce the amount of wasted rice by 2.5% which equates to 4 tonnes per week. An annual saving of 192 tonnes for 48 weeks.”

Examples: Improve sustainability

Reduce the moisture variation in mixed concrete to +/- 0.1% to enable savings of 29kg of cement per cubic metre of the concrete being produced which is equivalent to saving 20kg CO2e/m3.
