Hydronix offers a range of digital microwave moisture sensors for use in the aggregate processing, asphalt and concrete production. The accuracy of Hydronix improves control throughout the process and can improve production, reduce costs and reduce environmental impact.
Sensors are low maintenance and have a rugged, hard-wearing design especially suitable for abrasive materials. The range includes an array of installation and temperature options, enabling a sensor to be positioned in many locations where moisture needs to be measured.
Using Hydronix can help operators to improve the following:
• Increase overall equipment effectiveness
• Reduce unplanned downtime
• Lower carbon footprint
• Save energy
• Less waste
• Consistent final products
• Increase production yield through efficient use of material
• Online instant monitoring eliminates manual testing
• Reduce waste and energy
• Automate processes
• Hydronix estimates an average ROI in 3 months
• No need for expensive ongoing maintenance contracts
Moisture sensors can measure moisture levels in materials being discharged from bins, on conveyor belts or within vibratory feeders.
These measurements are then used by the plant control system in real-time to accurately proportion materials during weighing and/or control water addition during processing.
Moisture measurement is critical for asphalt manufacturers as they need to control material dosing to get the correct mix of materials and optimise surfactant additions when using Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP).
With increasing costs in energy, it is also essential to measure moisture before drying processes. Online moisture measurement in asphalt production is a cost-effective method of reducing costs without affecting quality.
