We have a very strong product offering and need a person on the road visiting our customer production and manufacturing sites to showcase what we can offer and how it can improve productivity and health and safety, as well as saving them time and money. Occasional visits to the office near Nottingham would be required. Experience of engineering and exposure to hygienic production sites would be helpful, but full training will be provided.

Main responsibilities

  • With support from the office, take a strategic approach to identifying target customers across the Midlands and South of the UK, carrying out thorough research, meticulously planning and preparing for every phone call, email and site visit. With occasional travel out of area for longer trips.
  • Maintain the database to ensure that all required information is kept up to date.
  • Ensure all site visits are exploited for maximum benefit, ie meet the right people, walk the plant, record all useful information and continually seek opportunities to use the company’s Make it better approach.
  • Follow up all enquiries and quotations promptly, with support from the office. Review the database frequently and take any action required.
  • Focus all efforts on generating the required level of sales revenue, following processes diligently and reviewing progress regularly with line manager.
  • Actively promote the organisation’s products and services on social media.  Attend exhibitions.
  • Follow all appropriate H&S systems for site visits, including using the appropriate PPE.

Key skills/qualities

  • Ability to recognise a sales opportunity and use all the tools at your disposal to turn this into a returning, loyal customer.
  • A proven track record in sales and customer service, ideally in powder processing sectors.
  • Technical knowledge of equipment and processes used in powder processing sectors would be advantageous, however full training is provided.
  • Tenacious and target driven. Ambitious and highly motivated to succeed.
  • Self-starter, proactive.
  • Meticulous planner who pays excellent attention to detail.
  • Superb communicator who knows when to listen well rather than talk.  A natural networker.
  • Strategic thinker and natural problem solver.
  • Independent, confident and resilient.
  • Well-turned out, likeable and honest.
  • Holds a current, valid, full licence permitting driving in the UK (no more than 3 penalty points).

Hours are 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday.
23 days’ holiday plus public holidays.
Discretionary bonus scheme.
