Hawiflex EasiFix – Unique new wear lining cushions the impact of maintenance costs
Hawiflex® EasiFix is a clever new product which combines a durable wear lining material with an integral foam backing layer to cushion impact and simplify installation. Bolting or gluing conventional liners into transfer chutes and storage bins can be difficult and time consuming. Hawiflex® EasiFix is a completely new solution developed to overcome this long standing problem.
Hawiflex® is one of the most abrasion resistant forms of polyurethane. It has proven highly cost effective in thousands of applications over the last 25 years and is now available in a new format ideal for the quarrying industry. In a recent test case Hawiflex® liners outlasted steel by 7 times.
Innovatively manufactured
Hawiflex® is cast in its liquid state directly onto a foam backing layer, bonding them together into a single sheet which is capable of carrying out two distinct functions. The top layer offers all the proven wear properties of Hawiflex®, whilst the integrated foam layer is adhesive friendly and simplifies bonding. EasiFix can be glued into place using commercially available contact adhesives, avoiding the need for elaborate, expensive bonding agents and time consuming surface preparation.
Making liner replacement simple
Replacing EasiFix is even easier as the two layers are designed to separate along a shear plane. The foam backing remains in place on the vessel wall to form a clean surface ready to accept the next sheet of EasiFix. Installation can take as little as 15 minutes so the plant can be up and running quickly to minimise costly downtime.
Reducing operational noise
The foam layer also provides a cushioning effect to improve wear characteristics even further. Noise and vibration are minimised. Hawiflex® has a low coefficient of friction to aid material flow and has self cleaning properties which help reduce maintenance.
EasiFix is available in lightweight, easy to handle 1m² sheets and is usually ex-stock. Optional 5mm or 8mm thick Hawiflex® layers are available depending upon the severity of abrasion. 2mm or 7mm thick foam backing layers can be selected depending upon level of cushioning required. EasiFix is very flexible and easily cut, formed and fixed for safe to installation.
